Come to Me
Come here daughter,
Come here to me,
Come quick; don't you falter,
Lay your burdens at my feet,
I see you've strayed,
Away from the sheep,
No need to be afraid,
I'll deliver the promise I keep,
I see you are so weary,
Your soul is dying to sleep,
When your soul is hungry,
I'll make sure you eat,
When your sight becomes blurry,
I'll make sure you see,
When the world turns its back,
I'll be the friend you seek,
I'll carry you; that's a known fact,
Come on; have faith in me,
Come here daughter,
Come here; follow me,
I will not let you falter,
As you lay your burdens at my feet.
Death Came
Death came knocking at my door,
Before dusk had to be around four,
He asked for my mother,
I ran slammed the door,
Fell right down to the living room floor,
He walked on through mocking me,
Said he came for one and that was she,
I cried and screamed begging pleading,
"Can't take her! Can't take her,
Please just let my mother be!"
Said he came for one and that was she,
It was time for her to spend eternity,
In a palace made for only one king,
Beautiful space with immaculate things,
Let her rest her head no worries or fears,
Time to let go of her my sweet dear,
Tears streaming heart skipping beats,
She looked my way and took one last breath,
I watched as she collapsed gaze fixed on the floor,
"Momma! Momma! What's wrong with her?"
Death smiled and there she stood,
An apparition with no cares of the world,
She said she is at peace time to go,
There is nothing you can do it is so,
Time to be reunited with her maker,
But I still wish he didn't take her,
My best friend my world my heart,
For a moment the world seemed so dark,
But as the rain fell the pain set in,
Knowing that Death had did me in,
Misery lasted more than a morning,
Since I was left in this dreadful mourning,
After nights of rain there came a time,
That he decided to let the sun shine,
A rainbow appeared like a movie scene,
Joy came over me setting my heart free,
I realized that in essence,
Death may have come for her,
Yet she will always be mine,
My guardian whom guides me,
My angel will always be with me,
And in turn Death came and set me free.
Lover
Tell me of the moon,
And shooting stars,
Of your favorite tune,
And life without bars,
Tell me of freedom,
And of a beautiful Eden,
Where a boy and girl play
And we sip tea by the bay,
Recounting days past,
Ones that sped by fast,
And kissed our lips,
Like the breeze upon our skin,
Will you be my Hercules?
Complete twelve labors,
Fight unruly lions,
Save me from Hell's armies
And show me heaven,
While the moon, stars and sky kiss,
Can I be your heart's delight?
Enticing your mind,
While setting your soul on fire,
Watch as our God given lights,
Dance a tango; one of a kind,
As we lift each other higher,
Traveling to heights unseen,
While being firmly planted,
In lavender and Jerusalem sage.
